FIRST RESPONDERS' DINNER on September 27, 2014  The Town of Ludlow thanked First Responders for their commitment and service. Middle School Class Officers presented an open letter of gratitude to the Fire Department, Police, and Ambulance Service. 
VERMONT READ 2015 ◦Middle School students will be participating in Vermont Community Reads in partnership with Fletcher Memorial Library. This year's selection is Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie. For more information, check out http://vermonthumanities.org/WhatWeDo/VermontReads 
TRACKING WORKSHOP 2015 ◦A group of students will be participating in a tracking workshop run by local author and forester Lynn Levine. The goal is to connect text to practical, everyday experience. 
PSAT 2014 8th grade students took the PSAT on October 15. Congratulations! Results are in, and the students did very well.  
NORTHSHIRE BOOK ANGELS 2014 7th Grade students are sponsored through the Northshire Book Angel Program this year. Each student will receive a book chosen by a Book Angel to match his or her interests. 
VETERANS DAY 2014 One 7th and one 8th grade student read short essays on the significance of Veterans Day at the Annual Veterans Day Assembly on November 7. 
GREAT WAR NIGHT 2014 On October 15, 8th grade students attended A Community Evening with Richard Rubin, author of Last of the Doughboys. The event celebrated American involvement in the Great War with readings of journals, letters, and poems (8th grade), the author talk, and a selection of Great War songs and propaganda posters (LES 6th grade). Check out thelastofthedoughboys.com for powerful interviews with Great War veterans conducted by Rubin, who has preserved the last voices left to tell.
