All students grades 9-12 are eligible to create an account to earn micro-scholarships throughout high school for things like attending a college fair, completing the FAFSA, playing a sport, taking the PSAT, volunteering, and more!! National Co-op Scholarship
Awards between ten to thirty $6,000 scholarships renewable for up to $24,000-$26,000 per College/University criteria
Who: Students applying to Clarkson Univ, Drexel Univ, Merrimack College, RIT, NYU Oswego, Univ of Cincinnati, UMASS Lowell, Univ of Toldeo, or Wentworth Inst. of Tech
Qualifications: GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
Deadline: February 15, 2018 *with earlier deadlines for Clarkson, Drexel, Merrimack, & UMASS Lowell

The St. Andrew's Society of Vermont Scholarship
(3) Awards of $1,000
Who: Any high school senior pursuing further education
Qualifications: Recipients are selected from a scholarship committee based on previous scholastic records, financial need, and other required material listed below
Deadline: February 23, 2018 by 5:00pm

Knights of Columbus Scholarship
Awards of $1,000
Who: Sons or daughters of a Knight of Columbus (paternal or legally adopted) in good standing in a subordinate Council within the Vermont jurisdiction. Sons or daughters of deceased members are also eligible if their father was in good standing at the time of his death. Must be a senior qualifying to graduate in June 2018 and looking to further their education.
Deadline: March 10, 2018

Rutland Area Medical Community Scholarship
(5) Awards of $1,000
Who: Seniors pursuing an education in healthcare
Deadline: March 16, 2018

-300-500 word essay on why you have chosen a career in healthcare and how a scholarship will impact your choice

Heritage Family Credit Union Scholarship
(4) Awards of $1,000
Who: Any high school senior pursuing further education. Student should be an exemplary member of the student body and have demonstrated leadership qualities within the school and community.
Deadline: March 30, 2018 by 5pm

Open Mind Scholarship
$5,000 1st Prize; $3,000 2nd Prize; $2,000 3rd Prize
Who: Any high school senior pursuing further education.
Deadline: March 31, 2018

The Open Mind Scholarship honors the diversity of thought, feelings, information and perspectives found in books, as well as the power of books to change people's lives.
-To enter the contest, students need to write up to one page on how a book has exposed them to something new and how it has impacted their life.

Awards of $5,000
Who: Senior enrolling in a STEM major in college at a Vermont college or university
Qualifications: of Native American ancestry OR a first generation college student
Deadline: April 1, 2018

Sons of the American Legion Scholarship
Award of (1) $1,000 & (1) $500
Who: Senior enrolling in a trade school or technical college
Qualifications: American Legion Membership (American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion) held by Grandfather, Grandmother, Step-Grandparents, Father, Mother, Step-Father, Step-Mother, Adopted Parents or Grandparents, and Brothers/Sisters
Deadline: April 15, 2018

Elks Lodge Scholarships
  • Lodge 1560 Scholarship
    • Awards of $500
    • Qualifications: Any senior enrolling in a 4-year undergrad degree program at an accredited US American college or university
    • Deadline: Application must be delivered to the Springfield Lodge #1560 no later than Friday, April 17, 2018

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship
Renewable four-year scholarships; $211,900 went to 31 Vermont students for the 2017-18 academic year
Who: Students from New England with financial need who are seeking a bachelor's degree at a 4-year college in the US
*Successful candidates are those who display academic achievement, service to others, good character, leadership qualities, and a willingness to work to contribute to college, personal, and/or family expenses. We also value demonstrated grit and resiliency in students who have faced significant challenges.
Qualifications: GPA of 3.0 or higher, financial need: check the financial eligibility calculator on the website to see if you qualify
Deadline: May 1, 2018 or the early response option by April 3, 2018
-Includes a formal essay and short written responses
-Requires a resume
-2 recommendations are required, but more are welcome

Vermont Golf Association Scholarship
Who: Any high school senior pursing further education full-time
Qualifications: Must have a current and active affiliation with the game of golf such as competing on a golf team, working at a golf course, and/or participating in golf programs or events.
Deadline: May 1, 2018
Fill out the application online at http://vtga.org/vga-scholarship-fund-2, print the application once filled out and mail it along with all required documents to the provided address.
-You must have filled out the FAFSA & include a copy of the EFC page
-3 Letters of Rec (1 academic, 1 affiliation to golf, 1 personal)
-Provide the cost of the institution you plan to attend and financial package they are providing

Calvin Writing Prize
First prize is $1500, second place is $500
Who: Any Vermont student ages 13-19
Deadline: May 11, 2018
-Write an essay of 800 words or less
