GIV Winter Weekends: are 48-hour immersion Institutes jam-packed with extreme learning and fun for all motivated 9-12th graders. Students spend a weekend living on Goddard College's campus in Plainfield, VT and do an in-depth exploration of a topic they're interested in with professional mentors and new friends! Students attending Winter Weekend will try out the intellectual exhilaration of a GIV summer Institute and choose to learn more about something they're already passionate about or try something new! Applications for the 2019 Winter Weekends will open December 10th. *Visit www.giv.org for more info!

Juniors & Seniors looking to take a spring dual-enrollment course online must register by January 11th! See Mrs. Russ for help registering. There are CCV course catalogs in the guidance office or online at https://ccv.edu/apply/high-school/.

VSAC's College/Career Pathways Event

Evening Resource Fair and Workshops for Families:

The evening component will provide families and adult learners with a road map on planning and paying for college and career training programs, and will also feature a resource fair with organizations and programs that support Vermonters in achieving their post secondary goals.

Locations:

  • Wed, Feb 27 – Castleton University *Black River Field Trip
  • Thurs, March 7 – Southern Vermont College
  • Thurs, March 21 – Saint Michael’s College
  • Wed, Apr 10 – Northern Vermont University-Johnson

Event Overview:

  • 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM Bus Arrival & Check-In
  • 8:45 AM – 9:30 AM Welcome, opening activity, and overview of the day
  • 9:45 AM – 10:30 AM Breakout workshop 1 (students register in January and choose between 6 options)
  • 10:45 AM – 11:30 AM Breakout workshop 2 (students register in January and choose between 6 options)
  • 11:45 AM – 12:30 PM Half the group goes to lunch, the other half takes a campus tour (may be self-guided depending on venue)
  • 12:30 PM - 1:15 PM Groups switch for lunch and campus tour
  • 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM Schools depart
  • 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Resource Fair open to the public
  • 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM Hearty snacks served
  • 6:00 PM – 6:45 PM Workshop 1 (attendees register in January and choose between 3-4 options)
  • 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM Workshop 2 (attendees register in January and choose between 3-4 options)
  • 8:00 PM Event concludes

Sunday administrations usually occur the day after each Saturday test date for students who cannot test on Saturday due to religious observance.

Additional fees apply if you register late or make changes to your test type, center or date after registering.
