SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

All students grades 9-12 are eligible to create an account to earn micro-scholarships throughout high school for things like attending a college fair, completing the FAFSA, playing a sport, taking the PSAT, volunteering, and more!! SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP

Who: Senior planning to attend a trade school or technical college AND whose family member (grandfather, grandmother, step grandparents, father, step father, mother, step mother, adopted parents or grandparents, and brothers or sisters) are a member of the American Legion Family.

Amount: $500 or $1,000

CAR BRAIN SCHOLARSHIP

VERMONT RETAIL & GROCERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Who: Seniors who meet the following requirements:

  • be the dependent of an employee or owner of a VRGA member company. Company or Employee must be located in Vermont or have responsibility in Vermont;
  • be an employee of a VRGA retail or associate member company in Vermont. Employee must be located in Vermont or have responsibility in Vermont.
  • The employee must be employed a minimum of 15 hours per week or 750 hours per year; and have been employed at a VRGA retail member store or company for a minimum of one year at the time the student applies for this scholarship

Who: Grades 7-12 (Division 2: Ages 9-13, Division 3: Ages 14-18)

Criteria: Must demonstrate a solution to a real-life problem using kindness, creativity, and collaboration

THE STEPHEN PHILLIPS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Who: Seniors seeking a bachelor's degree at a four-year college

Amount: $3,000-$15,000; renewable for 4 years

Criteria: Students should have a history of part-time employment, be in good academic standing, and must have financial need: students with Expected Family Contributions (EFC) of about $10,000 or less. Families with special, extenuating financial situations should call or e-mail to see about applying (978-744-2111 or staff@spscholars.org). Use the financial calculator on the scholarship website to be sure you qualify financially (you will need the scholarships & grants that your choice college has offered you in a financial award package).

Apply: online at www.phillips-scholarship.org starting in December 2018*give yourself 4-10 hours to thoroughly complete the application responses and also allow time for recommenders to complete requests prior to the deadline. Application includes one formal essay, a few short responses, and a resume. You need to upload your FAFSA student aid report & financial aid award info from the college/university that you plan to attend.

Deadline: May 1st @ noon OR early response by April 3rd @ noon* only if you have the financial aid info from your choice school, the first 300 students who submit before April 3rd will receive a decision before the college reply date of May 1st

Who: Seniors who have a current or active affiliation with the game of golf such as competing on a golf team, working at a golf course, and/or participating in golf events or programs
